Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cape Escape I In Barrier Dunes. The resort/neighborhood was so friendly and well taken care of. The Management made it so easy to arrange. Our place was beautifully furnished and clean. We will definitely be back!   Is is definitely a part of the amazing memories we had on the Cape.

Amazing Memories: Loved Cape Escape I & Barrier Dunes

This was our 1 year wedding anniversary trip. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place and people. It was incredibly stress free & relaxing. We had the beach almost entirely to ourselves. This condo had everything we could have ever needed. It was so quiet which was perfect for us.

It was nice to find a place so nice and accepting our dogs with no breed restrictions.

We weren’t here an hour before we discussed a return trip and sent pics to family as a suggested destination. I like this place—can’t wait to come back. Thank you for a wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating trip!

I just loved the decorating at the condo (Barrier Dunes 67 – Cape Escape I). We all agreed that it looked so natural and cheerful. We especially like the casual blue denim fabric on the couches and the beaches bedspreads. The kitchen had all the equipment we needed and the grill started right up so we felt at home pretty quickly. Lucy, our lab, loved the ocean and was exhausted, so was easy to manage in the new environment.

We rented bikes from Scallop Cove and enjoyed biking in the state park and on the bike path towards Port St. Joe. My husband got hooded on the donut stand (this is at the Trading Post).

Leslie is an artist and May 1 – 10 there was a county wide Plein Air art event going on, so we really enjoyed going to the exhibits and meeting artist outdoors painting in Apalachicola and seeing the web room at WindMark beach. We also enjoyed the year-round art galleries in Apalachicola, especially the Bowery. Leslie liked Tamara’s Cafe in Apalach so we ate there twice.

The vacation was really about the beach, which was lovely. Evan loved playing Frisbee on the sandbar, 50 feet out. We saw dolphins, a manta ray and pelican. All Lucy, our lab cared about was fetching balls out of the ocean. She was obsessed. The whole dog culture at Barrier Dunes was fun.

Beautiful vacation. Lovely beach, pools and tennis courts. Lovely grounds and friendly people!

I just loved the decorating at the condo

Thank you so much Wendy!  We enjoyed our stay so much!  We were very impressed with the grounds, how clean and pretty everything was.  We liked our condo and would love to come back!  WE didn’t do anything except  hang on the beach all day, we bought fresh seafood and cooked at the condo.  We came to relax and do nothing!  Exactly what we wanted.

Thanks so much for everything and I hope we can get there again this year!

We enjoyed our stay so much!

We had been wanting to plan a trip to take our 7 year old dog Riley to the beach over Thanksgiving, and Barrier Dunes was perfect for what we were looking for.  Wendy was great at answering our questions & providing recommendations.  Riley loved the beach & the unit conveniently had pet towels & an outdoor hose to rinse her off after our walks on the beach.  The complex also had pet stations throughout which was very helpful.

There are so many activities on the Cape to enjoy.  We made smores by our beach bonfires at night, went kayaking, and saw some amazing dunes in the St. Joseph Peninsula State Park.  We loved that our unit provided a lot that you would  normally have to buy such as dish detergent & hand soap.  Everyone at Barrier Dunes was very friendly & we will definitely be coming back & recommend to others : )

We enjoyed exploring/visiting Cape San Blas and only wish we had more time. The Cape Escape community is wonderful and felt super welcoming. We loved the local Trading Post for groceries (amazing selection for its size), t shirts and yummy cookies. Obviously, walking the beach, bird watching, and swimming were enjoyed by our family. Coming out of a Vermont winter, 70 degree water didn’t feel too bad!  I found having the two pools and tennis courts at Barrier Dunes a bonus as well. Though we really never felt a need to leave the Cape, exploring fun shops in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola one cloudy, rainy day was a great diversion. I love to cook, so getting your recommendation of a the local seafood market meant we didn’t go out to dinner at all!
Hopefully we will make another trip back and think we might look into flying to Tallahassee since it is only two hours away.

Best to you and thank you for being so accommodating. I hope we can rent something from you again!

The Cape Escape community is wonderful

Had an amazing time at your place , it was very clean and very accommodating.   The cape is very family oriented and pet friendly which made it very special to be able to bring our four legged baby..I truly enjoyed the visit there, life is about making memories and we definitely  made a few. My son got engaged on the beach at sundown and the event was amazing!!! Looking forward to coming back real soon…Thank you again!!!

Had an amazing time at your place

We LOVED our stay!  It was hard to leave!
This was the first time we traveled with our pups!  It was great to see all the pet owners walk their dogs throughout the complex.  We enjoyed our time with like-minded pet owners on the beach.  One of our pups even made a friend with the dog of a family sitting next to us!

We enjoyed the privacy of Port St Joe as we do not care for the high rise condos & commercial hotels.  Loved the morning walks through the state park next door!

We can’t wait to return and would love to book 416 Barrier Dunes Dr. (Barrier Dunes 67) was it was very convenient to get to and from the beach!

We LOVED our stay!  It was hard to leave!

We enjoyed our time at Barrier Dunes immensely!  The home was so comfortable it was almost like being at home!

We enjoyed exploring the beach and looking for shells. We also went to St. Joseph State park and checked out the beach and dunes there. Another day we rented kayaks and paddled around the bay. We also took a trip to Apalachicola and did some souvenir shopping and ate lunch at the Owl Café….delicious!  We also went to Mexico beach and had dinner at a seafood restaurant called Toucans. Towards the end of our trip we to St. George Island….very beautiful!!

We had such a wonderful time and wished we could have stayed longer.  We hope to return to Cape San Blas soon. When we do…we’d love to stay at Barrier Dunes!

We enjoyed our time at Barrier Dunes immensely!

ur experience was great. Cape San Blas is truly lovely. The miles of open beach makes for great strolls up and down the peninsula. Our dog loved going in and out of the water and rolling in the sand.
There is so much to do including bike rides, horseback riding, canoe/kayak rides, and much more. It is a great spot to bring your dog as well.

Barrier Dunes is a fantastic facility. It was fully stocked with so many of the things from home so just getting there was the hard part. Wendy prepared us for what to bring and what was there for us. The whole process was very easy.

My family and I would go there anytime!

Thanks for everything!
