Cape Escape was very clean and well kept. We had a issue with a toilet but I texted maintenance and it was fixed the next morning. I appreciated having the large pot for doing crab or shrimp boils. I also appreciated having a crock pot to cook a slab of ribs. We loved the location inside the barrier dunes. The whole family loved the decks and watching the turtles in the back. We would wave our arms and 60 turtles would show up.
It is a short walk to the beach. The rental came with a cart but we didn’t need it. It is right next to St. Joseph Park. Here you can rent kayaks and go out to the bay. Don’t take the dogs to the park.
In Barrier Dunes, we enjoyed taking our dogs and seeing other people with their dogs. The neighborhood even leaves a supply of doggie bags for everyone to clean up after them making it more enjoyable to everyone. The beaches are white and clean!!
We loved making a fire on the beach the last night of our stay, playing music and dancing! If you are into horseback riding, call Sand and Spur!! Get your bags packed and enjoy this area along with Port St. Joe and Apalachicola!! Plenty of shrimp and oysters to go around.
