We have been renting in Barrier Dunes for 7 years. This particular unit we have rented for the past three years (staying 6 weeks). We have already booked for next year and will continue to book as long as we are able to travel.
Paradise is immaculate, beautifully decorated, plenty of pots and pans, utensils etc., astounding view of the beach and gulf with lovely palm trees. You walk directly from the deck to the beach. The above is also true for all the units we have rented through Wendy Jackson. Wendy is always there for you, should any issues arise. She responds within minutes. What we love about Barrier Dunes is the beautiful white sand beach which is also dog-friendly. Each day Hubby and I would take long walks on the beach. Hubby likes to fish and would take his pole, pail and chair (beach chairs are included with rental) and spend hours, sometimes catching, sometimes not.
Although we only dined out about 2 times a week, the restaurants in Port St. Joe and Apalachicola are excellent. Piggly Wiggly Supermarket in Port St. Joe has everything you might need. I have ordered specialty meat cuts from them as well. There is also the Cape Trading Post a view miles away for grocery shopping. The people are all so friendly and helpful. I cannot express how much we LOVE Cape San Blas and Barrier Dunes. If it wasn't for family back here in NYC, we would move there in a heartbeat. Every evening we would watch the sun go down. We would watch the magnificent sunsets sitting on Adirondack Chairs, me sipping wine and Hubby having a beer. Our only regret is that we cannot stay longer then 6 weeks. Do not hesitate to book this unit. You will experience Heaven on Earth.
