We so enjoyed our stay away from home. The place was immaculate, had all the necessary staples and in general all the accommodations were extremely comfortable. It was our home away from home! The beach front property will remain in our minds forever!! We certainly will make arrangements to come back in the future.
Thank you!!

The beach front property will remain in our minds forever!!

“Walking on Sunshine” is a great place to spend time with family and pets. We enjoyed having so many amenities and the condo was decorated very nicely with lots of extras.

We especially enjoyed our time on the deck. Sunsets were incredible and the beach is right there. Barrier Dunes is a great place for pets. We met so many nice people and our dog Freddie loved meeting all the other dogs when on his walks. We highly recommend “Walking on Sunshine” for everyone, especially with the great service you will receive from Wendy. She’s the best!

Barrier Dunes is a great place for pets

From the initial point of contact throughout returning home, the communication and customer service were like nothing we had experienced before.

The Communication & Customer Service Were Like Nothing We Had Experienced Before

We had a terrific time at Sea Breeze during our 1st vacation to your area. The accommodations were excellent; very clean with an excellent layout. The area is so beautiful and the town of Port St. Joe was terrific in terms of restaurants and shopping for food and gifts. The Port St. Joe Country Club provided a nice golf course alternative for anyone interested in this activity. Barrier Dunes  is a perfect size with 2 nice pools and tennis courts. The temperatures were generally in the 60’s, plenty warm for us to walk several times daily on the most beautiful beach we have encountered. The other guests were always friendly and the dog situation is handled very effectively by all.
We check other potential accommodation options in the area and determined Barrier Dunes provided the best vacation spot for us in the future. Your handling of our stay was excellent. The whole experience was everything expected from our many conversations prior to our arrival. Because we were new to this area, your advice was accurate & sincerely appreciated!

A terrific time at Sea Breeze

We just finished the best vacation in thirty (30) years at Barrier Dunes #15 – Gulf Breeze. These are the things that we enjoyed. The direct view of The Gulf and the porch off of the living area. It was a great place to rest with our buddies (dogs) and to enjoy the great weather (in January). We rode our bike frequently and found the closeness to St Joseph State Park and the bike trail along side 30E to give us a safe trail and enjoyable scenery. Conehead’s restaurant, which is within walking distance, tuned out to be one of our favorites. Their seafood gumbo is tremendous. They have a full menu with quality food at a reasonable price.

The beach was fabulous and the other guests were friendly. Everyone was dog friendly and took responsibility for their pets. The pet stations and walking areas in the facility were handy and well planned out. The condo was equipped with everything one would need & more and the information provided helped to be familiar with the community. When I needed assistance, Wendy & her staff, were prompt & professional in helping us. We definitely will be back. Thanks for a wonderful time.

We definitely will be back

Hi Wendy. We made it back ok… snow…yuck! I rather be walking on the beach! Now I understand why retirees become snowbirds! Cape San Blas was everything you said it would be. It’s the perfect place for us. We met so many wonderful people too, very friendly and welcoming.
We hiked, played tennis, fished, went to the gym in port st. joe a few times a week. next time we will bring our bikes and Angelo wants to get an ocean kayak to explore the bay. There’s so much wildlife to see: dolphins, sharks, deer, birds, alligators, snakes, manatees, wow…everyday…something different. We went to Wakulla Springs State Park which was beautiful (and educational). We went to some of the local restaurants you suggested and the food was great.

The local folks are so helpful and sweet, which made our visit even more special. Our dog lexi had the best vacation of her life!  We really needed to get away after the holidays and just relax… we enjoyed every day in Barrier Dunes…and the sunsets are so breathtaking! You have a great place there Wendy, it felt so homey and comfortable, we didn’t want to leave. Thank you for the best vacation ever!

It’s the perfect place for us.

Wendy we had another great vacation at Seascape. Each year when we return, it seems for 5 weeks like a second home for us.   This year new deck furniture was a nice surprise. As you can see by the picture, the boys like to relax on the deck.

It’s like a 2nd home for us!

My lifelong fantasy of having a home on the beach was fully (if all to briefly!) fulfilled during our recent stay at Barrier Dunes Unit 1, Walking on Sunshine.

There is much that we enjoyed about the property, but as a city-dweller who rarely sees stars, I especially loved sitting on the beach-facing balconies (outside the main floor and outside the master bedroom) and looking at the night-sky while listening to the ocean.

Wendy and her on-site staff did a great job making us feel welcome.  We loved the spacious rooms, beautiful and homey furnishings and décor, and were enthusiastic users of the outdoor grill and fully-equipped kitchen (though we can also recommend the barbecue at the Sand Bucket, and pizza from Coneheads, which is literally at the entrance to Barrier Dunes).  We found Barrier Dunes to be a great home-base for exploring the Cape, close to the St. Joseph State Park and a short drive to the many other attractions and activities.

I highly recommend an off-season stay; you get a relaxed atmosphere and it is  warm enough to spend time on the beach -I even waded into the water to get a closer look at a small flock of grey pelicans riding the ocean waves.
The phrase “pristine beach” may be a cliché, but it truly applies to Cape San Blas and Barrier Dunes, all the more remarkable considering all of the dog-walking, fishing and other activity.  You get a sense that visitors and residents all appreciate the unique beauty of the beach and are committed to its preservation.  I hope to visit again sometime soon!

A Lifelong Fantasy

Just returned from “the Cape”, and had a fabulous time! We’ve rented properties throughout the US, and this was, by far, the best outfitted we’ve experienced. Besides all the amenities, Shore Thang had plenty of room, a gorgeous view right on the beach, and was well equipped for our 8 lb. pooch! Also, the unit was extremely clean when we arrived. While enjoying all the walking areas throughout the complex, we also made sure to take a long daily walk on the beach, which the dog thoroughly enjoyed. Also, we can’t thank Wendy and her crew enough for being so responsive and accommodating (the heater in the unit went out…we called, and all was perfectly fixed in less than 2 hours.) If you like sand, sun and the sea, I’d totally recommend this place at Barrier Dunes.

A Gorgeous View

I just spent three weeks in Barrier Dunes on Cape San Blas. My husband was with me for a few days and my daughter joined me for my last week there. We stayed in Shore Thang #2 which was managed by Wendy Jackson. I can’t say enough good things about the experience from start to finish. First of all, Wendy was immensely helpful, prepared with any information needed and responded immediately to any concerns or questions. The unit itself was sparkling clean and lovely; every possible need had been anticipated and provided for.

The pet-friendly gated community was nestled on beautiful park-like grounds with ponds, fountains, and many lovely observation decks, gazebos, and walkways. The beach was pristine with beautiful white sand and the sunsets were spectacular.

Barrier Dunes is next door to a state park with access to St. Joseph Bay. It is stunningly beautiful park and a must-see. Many things to do there.  We took several day excursions to Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, and our favorite, Apalachicola. Sitting bayside at Boss Oyster with our dog, while eating fabulous local seafood was a highlight.

But upon return from our excursions we always commented that nothing we had seen was as beautiful and peaceful as Cape San Blas. It is rare to go somewhere and find that every single aspect of the experience exceeded your expectations but this was one of those rare times.
