Thank you for a wonderful mini vacation! Loved our condo right on the beach. Beautiful sunsets, beautiful white sand and wonderful accommodations. It was so nice to be somewhere where dogs are loved. All the the shops in Apalachicola and Port St Joe were quaint and were dog friendly. I will definitely be back!
My husband, daughter, and I, along with our two German Shepherds, just returned from a short but wonderful stay at Barrier Dunes 7. This was our second time renting from Wendy at Cape Escape, and we hope to do so many more times! Everything about Barrier Dunes 7 was wonderful. Great location, beautiful view of the Gulf from every level of the home’s balconies, right next to the beach entrance, and only a few steps to an open, grassy area where we could walk our dogs. The unit is well equipped with anything one would need, be it for cooking a meal or finding something to do when stuck inside during a strong storm (nice choice of games!) and for fun on the beach after the storm! My family especially appreciates that we can travel and stay at this beautiful location with our dogs! The unit is very close to a grassy area for quick walks, and the deck on the second floor has a well-latched gate to keep the dogs safely on the deck with us as we drank our morning coffee and watched the day begin at the beach. Also very welcome was the water pressure on the outdoor shower so we could easily wash our dogs after fun on the beach! Easy dog cleanup is very important when vacationing with dogs, especially when your dogs are full coated German Shepherds! My family absolutely loves Cape San Blas, and renting a place from Wendy at Cape Escape that welcomes families with furry, four legged members, makes for special memories that the whole family can be a part of. It’s a great place to go even if you don’t bring your dog, but even better if you can share the experience of a vacation at Cape San Blas with your dog!
Our vacation arrangements were made simple by the condo owner’s prompt contact and excellent directions- right down to our arrival at the unit. That the condo was quite roomy, was located directly on the beach, had four balconies and included amenities like beach chairs, coolers, and other necessities (dish soap, laundry detergent, starter paper products), helped make this one of the nicest vacation spots my family has had the pleasure to enjoy.

The Cape Escape met all of our great expectations and we’ll definitely be back again. Our dog, Katie, had the best time as we did too! We met some great people from other states who loved the Barrier Dunes too! So we hope you have a great winter next year and we’ll certainly be looking forward to returning! We had a great time at Barrier Dunes. The condo (Barrier Dunes 2 – Shore Thang) was immaculate and very pleasant to stay. We even swam Saturday in the heated pool. Delightful. You and Soni are fantastic!! Great job and thanks for everything.

We truly enjoyed ourselves at the Cape. What a beautiful place. It’s like REAL Florida. Who when we still had such beautiful beaches! The condo was gorgeous and very accommodating. Very convenient access to the beach with million dollar views! The sunsets were some of the prettiest I’ve ever seen! The dogs really enjoyed the beach. It was a new experience for them. It was great fun to watch them. All the people we met were very nice and friendly. We even went horseback riding on the beach with Broke a Toe and they were great to work with. Thank you for helping make our trip as enjoyable as possible. I am more than happy to serve as a reference if you ever need one. I’m sure we’ll be making trips back to the Cape and back to Shore Thang.
We had such a wonderful time. The location was perfect just steps from the beach. All the rooms were nicely decorated, the mattress, pillows and linens were very comfy! The size of the condo was huge and we had plenty of room for our family. I really appreciate that you were able to let us borrow the pack n plays and high chair. We will definitely be back! Wendy is such a great person to work with. She got back to me quickly with any questions and found me a second pack n play last minute. She’s so helpful!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Barrier Dunes 2 – Shore Thang. The unit was clean, bright, well-appointed, and very comfortable. It is only a few steps away from the beach, and the views from each of the beachfront balconies are incredible. We used the gas grill several times and it worked perfectly. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, spices, cleaning products, and pots/pans. The beds are wonderful! we had 6 people total, so each bed was used and everyone was very comfortable. The HVAC in the unit works really well, but the extra wall unit in the master suite on the 3rd floor was a great touch. It is one of the new units that is silent and operated by remote. This is a very special place and we hope to return soon.
We had a wonderful weekend! We all loved the house, especially its location and the easy access to the beach! Our dogs quickly learned their way around and made a beeline for the path as soon as we said “time to head to the beach!” Morning coffee on the deck, a beach fire at sunset, dolphins playing in the surf – all made for a relaxing time! This was a first visit to the Cape for all of us – we certainly understand why everyone falls in love with the serenity of this quiet community. We literally had the beach all to ourselves! I’m so glad I found The Cape Escape website when we looked for rental properties. Thanks again for your professionalism throughout the rental process.
We truly loved your home. Everything was just perfect. You have appointed the entire place so that we felt right at home immediately. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving spread and found everything we needed in the kitchen to accommodate. We all decided it was our best Thanksgiving ever and have decided to make it our new tradition – Thanksgiving on the beach! What a blast to be able to sit down to Thanksgiving dinner in our bathing suits! It was the first time we have been to Cape San Blas and we truly loved everything about it. You have thought about just about anything we would need for our stay from the beach chairs to the shovel to help us build our bonfire. We will be back next year!
