Hi Wendy……we had a WONDERFUL time and Cape San Blas is now OFFICIALLY OUR FAVORITE BEACH of anywhere we have been before.  It was great to be able to take our “doggie daughter” with us instead of worry about her being away from her family.  The Waters Edge was just beautiful and more well equipped than my home! We had everything we needed down to a muffin pan. We had trouble with the TV (only because we are not technologically savvy) and the manager on site was ringing our doorbell within 30 seconds of calling her.  We will definitely be back!  Thanks for everything!

we had a WONDERFUL time

Wendy thank you for everything that you did to help us get a mini vacation.

Cape Escape Vacation Rentals was extremely easy to work with.  Wendy made sure that we had all the information that we needed prior to our arrival on the cape and at Barrier Dunes, Waters Edge.  The nicest part besides being at the beach was that for our short stay we did not need to worry about essentials, paper towels, toilet paper cooking spices etc.  More importantly. we did not need to bring our own linens they were provided for humans and our pets.   The condo was steps away from the beach and the park where we could snorkel and my son could fish.  Beach chairs were ready and anything else you could want was waiting!  Thank you so much for an excellent mini vacation!

We enjoyed staying at Water’s Edge – Barrier Dunes #177.  The kitchen was well appointed. We cooked a full Thanksgiving meal and did not have to buy additional equipment/utensils, etc.  We appreciated having the washer/dryer upstairs and there were plenty of linens and towels.  The access to the beach was very good and the community of Barrier Dunes was very quiet, friendly and inviting.

The beach chairs and sand cart were very much appreciated.  We donated a beach umbrella to the beach gear.

We were surprised to see an armadillo sniffing through the grass outside of our unit!  The bird watching was good for this time of year.  We saw a bald eagle and then later saw three American white pelicans (somewhat rare) as well as other typical shore birds.  Of course, the sunsets were amazing – they always are at the Cape. A few porpoises were corralling fish just beyond the sand bar and provided quite a show.

It was great to get to the Cape during Thanksgiving and we appreciate the amenities offered by #177.

We really enjoyed Barrier Dunes and your condo was perfect and above our expectations.  We used the upper balcony to enjoy an evening glass of wine and watch the sunset.

Fergus (the dog) loved his early morning beach runs and would then happily sit on the deck with his nose between the rungs watching the world go by.  As tennis players, it was nice to have a couple of courts and amazingly there was always one free when we wanted to play

One week wasn’t enough but after a week socializing with friends in Naples, it was certainly a relaxing way to end our trip.  Another time we would spend a day or two checking out Apalachicola which looked an attractive little town.  We may well be back in contact for another trip next spring!

My husband and I would like to thank you for the lovely accommodations at the Cape Escape II.  We had a wonderful time there on the Cape, snorkeling for scallops, enjoying the beach & exploring the area.  We thought that the condo was very nicely maintained & managed.
We were quite comfortable and I’m pretty sure our dog wanted to stay.  He enjoyed a little paddling around in the lake next to the condo & he also liked the beach – it was his first salt water experience.  Being able to bring him along for the trip was truly a blessing to us (and very much so for him).  He is 11.5 years old & being boarded is getting rougher on him in his old age.  Having the hose downstairs to rinse him off after swimming was great and being able to wash the sand off ourselves before going inside was a good thing too.

It was a beautiful, relaxing vacation for our anniversary and we would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone looking for a great escape!

We arrived back home (all of us and pups) safely yesterday.  We were tired but already missing the lovely condo and the beach we left behind.  I cannot thank you enough for the wonderful experience we had renting through you.  I have already told all my friends all about the place and our experience.  I will email you more details this week and some pictures once I get them uploaded off my camera.  Thank you again for giving us a vacation we’ll never forget!

Thank you again for giving us a vacation we’ll never forget!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Cape.  We really did our best to leave the place as good or better than we found it, including a decent cleaning and leaving some extra items behind that we hope the next family finds helpful.  Included are some umbrella anchors that also worked well for doggie leash anchors on the beach!

We made some notes of things to do next year: jet ski tours, parasailing, etc., but we really just enjoyed family time at the beach, relaxing, shopping, and sampling the local restaurants this time.  We especially enjoyed the Sunset Coastal Grill, nice food and nice place.

While the Cape Escape is not the cheapest place on the beach & there are other beaches closer, there are several things that made it a great choice for us.  Being able to bring our dogs, the comprehensive features and convenience to the beach really made it worthwhile, even with a 13+ hour drive from Houston.

All in all, we will be back next summer…hopefully with friends.  Thanks for making it such a great stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at the Cape.

We had a great time and loved the place we stayed.  For potential guests who do not have pets, I was worried about going to a place that allowed pets because of smell, etc., and almost didn’t book.   However, I must say, it was CLEAN and there was NO smell.   The dogs on the beach were leashed, well behaved and did not bother us in any way. I would recommend this place for those who don’t have pets.
Thank you so much.

Thank you, Wendy, for a great experience at Cape San Blas. We have been coming to the Cape for many, many years. We love the beach and love Barrier Dunes. This was our second time staying in this Condo and it was one of the best we have stayed in. Well stocked, comfortable beds (we’ve stayed in some condos that I would have rather slept on the floor than the bed) &  very clean. I also appreciate the beach closet stocked with beach chairs, beach gear, toys for the sand…one less thing you have to pack in your car. It rained three out of the five days we stayed but we had a great time anyway. We went to Apalachicola on one day where we ate at The Owl Café and tried some of the beer at Oyster City Brewing Company (very good). The condo was stocked with board games and we really enjoyed playing games on the other days. Our granddaughter enjoyed the turtles in the pond and boy are there a lot of turtles!  We will definitely consider coming back to this condo.

Thank you, Wendy, for a great experience at Cape San Blas.

My daughter and I (and our two Golden Retrievers) just returned from Barrier Dunes. I could go on and on about the complex, our condo, the beach, and the water…..but, that’s all obvious in the gorgeous photos. What I’m beyond thankful for was Wendy going out of her way to accommodate some last minute change of plans, which were out of my control. She took care of us and had us in a beautiful, comfortable condo, in no time. From there, we went on to have an amazing and oh, so relaxing time. I have an upcoming vacation to Mexico with my kids in January. While I’m excited about it, I’m already sad about having to leave my furry friends behind. Already looking at my 2017 calendar to return to Barrier Dunes.
