Kathy Baker (December 2016) Barrier Dunes 4 – SeaScape
There aren’t enough good things to say about our stay at the Cape this week with the lovely accommodations Wendy arranged for my family! This is our second trip and will definitely not be our last. Wendy does a great job making sure you have everything you need for a week in paradise. Thank you Wendy!!!! Merry Christmas to all!!!ry & Steve Hillis (November 2016)
We stayed in Barrier Dunes in November and our condo was right on the beautiful beach. We had a wonderful time walking our two shelties on the beach and sitting on the deck watching the sun set over the Gulf. Our favorite trip was to Apalachicola and taking the dogs to Oysterbones and for lunch at Up the Creek. We really enjoyed eating oysters and shrimp at Indian Pass Raw Bar.
Kelly Vernay-Gonzalez (October 2016)
Wendy, we had a wonderful stay at Seascape in Cape San Blas!!! Definitely has become our “go to” Florida destination. The wildlife was unbelievable…no need to leave the townhouse. Accommodations were clean, comfortable and spot on with the photos. Linens were nice and you had an assortment of pillows which was very much appreciated. The kitchen was well supplied and the fact you had spices and seasonings was so very helpful. Moose made many new friends but had to get accustomed to the amount of dogs walking by with their people as we were next door to the beach access. Not saying it was bad, just something to think about if your dog isn’t used to it. My husband can be really picky and he was as thrilled as the rest of us and is already planning our next trip.
Suzanna Holmes (October 2016)
We just returned yesterday evening from our too short (5 day) stay at the Cape. For the second year in a row my husband and I spent our October Fall break at Barrier Dunes, this time at Cape Escape. The house was very comfortable and well-equipped, from the kitchen to the beach chairs, sand buckets, nets, all the little things you might want with you while at the beach. We came down as well in August with our children and grandchildren and stayed in a very nice beachfront house on Summerhouse Lane, but honestly, the amenities in that house weren’t as nice as those at CapeEscape. But best of all, the view of the beach was stunning from both the main level living area to the second floor master suite. Oh, we did walk the trails at the state park and along the fire tower trail and made six different bald eagle sightings, including a couple while driving through Indian Pass. One other thing I might mention………. the people we met at Barrier Dunes – whether while walking our dogs through the complex or down on the beach- were friendly. We had a wonderful time.
Rich Turly (August 2016)
Everything was perfect about our Cape Escape! The home was wonderful and had every amenity imaginable. Gunny and Bubbles (our Chihuahua’s) enjoyed it as well. The views from the home are incredible, to say the least. We especially enjoyed crabbing at dusk and watching the sharks and sting rays swim during the day. They didn’t keep us or the dogs out of the water though as the beach was too tempting to pass up. The nearby bicycle path was put to good use as well since we brought our bikes. I will highly recommend your home to all who ask “where’s an awesome place to visit in Florida?”.
We took the opportunity to visit the nearby Greyhound track by Panama City, visit Apalachicola, and of course nearby Port St. Joe. We found good food, great weather, and very nice people. Oh, we very much enjoyed the shark fishing trip hosted by Fishin’ Express. They run a tight ship for a fun fishing trip!
All responsible dog owners who are looking for a pet friendly beach and an amazing place to stay should contact you immediately.

Wendy, we couldn’t have asked for anything better for a vacation. Cape San Blas is beautiful and the Barrier Dunes were spectacular! We had so much fun snorkeling, crab hunting, relaxing on the beach and getting some fresh seafood. The house is perfect and so well supplied. We cooked in a lot and we had everything we needed. We brought our Goldendoodle and she had a great time on the beach meeting other dogs. The people there are all very friendly and we will definitely be coming back again. It’s our new best-kept secret for a peaceful relaxing getaway!
Ed and Benay (May 2016)
The most remarkable thing about our stay was how relaxing it was. We had no concerns. Everything promised or needed was provided. The unit was comfortable and clean. We chose to eat most meals in and purchased seafood locally. Overall our experience was outstanding.
Kay Swindle (May 2016)
Thank you, Wendy!
Susan & Barbara Parks (November 2015)
SeaScape is a first-class accommodation & Wendy did everything she could to make the stay flawless. The unit is beautiful & very well maintained. Everything needed for a fine beach holiday was provided; all you have to do is head to the beach and enjoy your stay.
We loved having high chairs & table on the deck to take advantage of the spectacular vista with our morning coffee. Of the many perks of staying in Barrier Dunes were the friendly neighbors, well-behaved dogs, & one of the cleanest beaches we’ve found on the Gulf. All in all, it was a wonderfully relaxing visit.
Cristina Robinson (October 2015)
We chose to vacation at the beach in October because 1) that’s when we had free time and 2) it’s less crowded. We found the place easily. The place was clean and the decor was beachy – which is what you want when going to the beach. There was plenty of room for all of us – 6 adults and one black lab. Being right on the beach was a HUGE perk. We would just walk off the deck to the beach and back. Everything we needed to know about our stay was in a notebook. We utilized it every single day.
Having “dog” towels was a blessing. It was very quite but there were lots of friendly people around. I would have little chit chats with them on our morning walks with Sassy. We loved the fact that we had no cell phone signal because we all just unplugged and enjoyed each other and the beach. There were lots of board games available and we had some pretty mean competitions playing them. Our sides hurt from laughing so much. One of my sons, my husband and father-in-law went fishing almost every morning. I sat on the deck, drinking coffee watching them and the dolphins! The sunsets were AMAZING and a few people had beach fires going that we admired.
Michael & Andrea Klauss (October 2014)
What a fantastic trip we had!
Friday as a big beach day, dolphins, sting rays, fishing, sunsets and campfires on the beach.
Saturday was a trip to St. George Island to visited relatives & see the sites.
Carmen, our guide took us out to tour the Apalachicola River, Dead Lakes and the Apalachee River. We hit the swamp, saw turtles, tupelo trees, lily pads, birds & a very big alligator. House boats, river camps and all sorts of other new things. My son even claimed he saw a manatee. Beautiful weather for a beautiful place.
After the tour we headed back to Cape San Blas. That afternoon, more excitement blew in from offshore. In a flash, several small fishing boats swooped in. Fishermen hurled themselves into the water with a big net and scooped up a big school of mullet right in front of our condo! One of the fishermen gave us 3 mullet from their haul.
That night we filleted & grilled those large mullet and 13 more whiting, watched another stunning sunset and wished for more time by the side of our campfire under the stars.
Just thought you should know what a special place Cape San Blas is. The house was perfect for our stay and had everything we needed! We will certainly be back. It was a 13 hour drive and worth every minute!
The Nunes Family (October 2014)
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful beach vacation house with us. I loved seeing so many stars each night. This has been one of my all-time favorite vacations thanks to the wonderful people in the area who celebrake life with dogs as we do.
Wendy was fantastic answering my 100+ questions before we booked & saw how how fabulous it was for myself.
The decor in Barrier Dunes 4 (SeaScape) was exactly what I would want in a vacation home and the place was perfect being right on the beach with sunlight all day.
Our favorite little trip was to see the “Old World Florida’ Tour of Apalachicola. I had so much joy each day watching the different dogs on the beach–that was my heaven! That and the water, weather and the white sand. Thank you again.
Mary Twining February/March 2014
Wendy we had another great vacation at Seascape. Each year when we return, it seems for 5 weeks like a second home for us. This year new deck furniture was a nice surprise. As you can see by the picture, the boys like to relax on the deck.
Beth Burton – October 2013
After all the research, I truly appreciate how the pictures and information accurately described the unit and BD #4 was beautiful, it was so on the mark of my taste.
Joseph and Angela Perry (September 2013)
What a beautiful condo! We really enjoyed our trip to the cape. The beach was awesome and not crowded at all. There were several times that we would be the only ones on the beach. This is truly a hidden gem in Florida that allowed us as well as our “pup” to enjoy a wonderful week. We included a few pictures you may like viewing. Thank you so much, we hope to visit again in the near future.
Randy Moore (August 2013)
Our stay was wonderful. We could not have been more pleased. The condo was beautiful and well appointed and the view from the deck and living room was outstanding. The sunsets from the deck were awe inspiring. We will definitely be back. We were so impressed with the area and location that I would be very appreciative if you would let us know if you become aware of any of the beachfront units being available for sale in Barrier Dunes or that area. Again, thank you so very much for your graciousness and hospitality.
Michelle Posey (and family), July/August 2013
It was a long drive to Cape San Blas but well worth it when we arrived. We arrived at 10 pm and could not see a THING outside! I went to bed nervous that maybe I had rented a home on a swamp …LOL..woke up at sunrise and couldn’t believe my eyes when I stepped out on the balcony! Gorgeous and breathtaking….and very relieved! It is all you said it would be and more. We had the best time just being together on the beach each day and hanging out on the balcony. We tried crabbing but were unsuccessful. We left two brand new crab cages in the closet for someone else to experiment with their luck. My oldest son caught a fish right off the beach and it was big enough to feed two people..and delicious. The fresh seafood available was one of our favorites and we enjoyed visiting in the Trading Post. We didn’t go boating this trip but plan to our next trip. We also plan to bring our dogs next trip! Words simply cannot describe the beauty of this place. The home was well stocked and furnished beautifully. We hardly needed a thing to make it through the week. Can’t believe I have to wait another year to go back! Here are some pics and some of our vow renewal ceremony done by Lacie Shepherd. Thank you for recommending her to us. Dockside Marina is a great place to eat and the pizza at the Trading Post makes for a great quick meal when you would rather play than drive or cook! Thanks again!
Mary Alice Buckner, July 2013
We had an absolute BLAST on our vacation! The condo is gorgeous & pictures do not do it justice. Everything was “just right” upon our arrival. I am sorry for not writing sooner but my company just left this morning. Thanks for having such a nice place for us to come. My friend who has been visiting since Thursday is a teacher in the Atlanta area. I have bragged about our Cape San Blas trip so much that she is wanting to come with me next time!! Once again, thank you for having such a great place.
Cindy Johnson, October 2012
We had a wonderful time Thank you. You did think of everything. Maggie was not real keen on the water but did enjoy the beach. We did meet Zeus and Titan while we were there but no pictures of the three Great Danes together
If I could have gotten all three together I would have named the picture THE DANE GANG. Got some really great pics of the beautiful sunsets. Thanks again for everything.
Carrie Todd, April 2011
We had a wonderful time at Seascape and Cape San Blas! Our stay was most enjoyable and the accommodations were top notch. So many amenities were provided…we lacked for nothing while we were there. Thank you for the fast action on the baby gates too!
We were fortunate to have superb weather during our stay so took full advantage of the beach, and your beach chairs all week. We attempted crabbing at the state park but only came up with one so we set him free! We did go on a guided fishing trip and the bay and caught a large red fish, flounder and trout….my husband was less fortunate and go nothing….and I will never let him forget that!
Coneshead’s is a quaint little place and was visited twice. Both times the food was good. Other than that we just relaxed and enjoyed the Cape. We are ready to go back NOW!
Thanks so much for giving us a great vacation. My husband told me Sunday night that it was the best vacation he’s ever had!
Rich & Mary Twining (& Laddie and Chase), March 2011
We just returned from 3 weeks at SeaScape. The weather was great. We loved walking on the beach with our Border Collies, Laddie and Chase. This was our 2nd year at SeaScape. It was great to stay in such a beautiful location. The new king bed was a nice surprise. Thank you owners!
The pups spent a lot of time on the deck. Several of the other guests refereed to them as the “GATEKEEPERS”. Both dogs would just watch people and wag their tails. Neither dog barked! I was so proud of them. We will be returning to SeaScape next year. This time we are planning to stay for a month!
Jim and Holly Richmond (and Alaska their dog), January 2011
Thanks for everything. Your place is wonderful and we had a great time. The weather was great yesterday-and we spent almost the whole day on the beach. Thanks again!
Tom and Vie Baird, November 2010
We did have a good time and the condo was great. The only rain this area of Florida has seen in weeks and weeks came during our time there, but that turned out fine — we got to see the Gulf in storm mode with heavy waves crashing and roaring. I think the weather changed about 8 times a day while we were there…..we had such great sunsets and the dogs loved it! Our old guy (dog) loved sleeping on the deck in the sun & the new dog loved running down the beach dragging me. Vie Vie & I relaxed and read. It was a good change of scene.
We’ll definitely contact you in the future. The condo would be perfect for the grandkids to explore the beach and the 3rd floor is a great kid’s loft. They would love it. Thanks again for the easy arrangements & enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Margie Alf, October 2010
Our visit was GREAT! The condo is so lovely and being right on the beach was incredible. Thank you again for getting us in that unit! This is also the first vacation that we both agreed we would like to return to the exact same spot! Thank you for being so helpful!
Jean B., October 2010
I wanted to write and thank you for the wonderful time we had at Barrier Dunes. What a great idea! There aren’t many places to go and have fun where the dogs are allowed. We had a blast!
Tom and Margaret Clelland, October 2010
We loved it! We had everything we needed. Our pups loved it as well. My English Bulldog thinks she is a bird chasing waterdog now!
We would like to come back for a week next April. I’ll know our schedule in a few days and give you a call!
Laura Doumont, September 2010
We had a wonderful time and hope to return. Everything was great…could not have been better. Layla really enjoyed the beach and the ocean. I attached a couple of pictures!
Susan Warnock, June 2010
We loved Cape San Blas and Barrier Dunes. Your place was lovely and very comfortable. We hope to come back in the fall if we can. Glad we left it OK. It was great to have our dog with us. He had a blast!
Gloria Luster, June 2010 (Repeat Guest)
We had a lovely time at the beach. Our pups enjoyed it so much. They love to “people watch”.
My grandson loved the loft. He just graduated from High School, so it was perfect for him. The beach was gorgeous. It was so still and clear. It is so sad about the oil. I pray it does not destroy the beauty of Cape San Blas. (NOTE: No oil made it to the Cape, this was just a general note from the guest!)
Thanks for sharing with us. God bless.
Gail Hebert, April 2010
Your place is just beautiful and so peaceful. And talk about feeling safe on a vacation…it was incredible!! I was out walking Annie at 6 a.m. with no worries whatsoever. The beach sure beats our Texas coast, hands down! …..I was worried about making reservation based solely on internet pics, but it was even more beautiful than the internet showed. Thank you Wendy for such a memorable vacation get away!
Zak and Sandy Kerr (and Journey), April 2010
We had a wonderful time & will definitely be calling you again, most likely in the early fall. We like the beach in the Spring & Fall & the place was perfect! Thanks again.
Dave and Holly Kent, April 2010
We had a great time at the beach. Barrier Dunes 4 was a really nice unit & we did enjoy it. We had everything we needed for our stay there. We did a lot of grilling out of fresh fish or shrimp almost every day & tried the oysters everything we went to town. We did not leave hungry. The weather was perfect & we couldn’t have been in a better position to catch the sunset each evening. Phoebe (their dog) wore herself out chasing after anything that moved on the beach. Thanks for providing us such a nice place to vacation!
Sally McRoberts, March 2010
We have had a great time. This really is a gorgeous location!
Ann Brown, February 2010
We certainly loved the place with its beach views and homey touches. It was stocked with everything. We’d love to stay there again especially as my brother enjoyed coming to the State Park so it makes a great family reunion place!
Jim and Ellen Ruch, January 2010
We had a nice time at the Cape and Barrier Dunes 4 could not have been any better. It was in a perfect location.
Anthony Young, December 2009
We had a great time. Anyone wanting privacy and an intimate time with their family then the off season is definitely the time to come. We all had our flashlights running around on the beach at 2200 at night hunting ghost crabs. The beach was ours pretty much when we wanted it. Lots of shells, it was great.
Thanks again for a great time. Your place is all stars with us.
Pat Davenport, October 2009
Thank you so much for your prompt return of our deposit. We have dealt with several rental agencies and have found you to be the most professional. You are to be commneded on how well you treat your clients. We hd a wonderful time and are truly looking forward to next year.
SeaScape was wonderful! I was amazed at how wll stocked the kitchen was. Everything was at my fingertips. I have already started telling all of our friends who have pets about this place to vacation. The sunsets are beautiful and we got lots of pictures. This was our Yorkie’s first trip and she loved the beach. We are looking forward to returning in the spring!
Shira Shiloah, August 2009
We truly had an amazing vacation! Loved it, even when it rained! We will definitely come visit again!
Mike and Lynda Earls, May 2009
The house was more lovely than I visualized and was so relaxing. It was one of the best vacations we have taken and it was perfect for the family. I appreciate the pet-friendly atmosphere and people were so nice and friendly. Beautiful beaches! I hope to return again someday and hope you will keep us abreast of special rats. My daughter-in-law and I really enjoyed the beach and sea shell adventures and my husband and our sun took to the bay in pursuit of fish. Thank you so much for such a lovely experience.
