Casa Del Sol (Barrier Dunes #27) has great gulf views & is 85 STEPS to the beach, gulf front pool, 2nd pool & even less to the Tennis Courts! It is centrally located to everything! You will find it well stocked & ready for you and your family to come enjoy a relaxing beach vacation on Cape San Blas!
Upper Floor:
King Bedroom with private porch with lovely gulf views, full bathroom, cable TV with VCR, ceiling fan, phone, and alarm clock.
The 2nd bedroom has queen bed, full, private bathroom, private deck with gulf views, cable TV & ceiling fan.
There is also a laundry area with a washer, drier, iron & ironing board. Laundry soap is provided for your convenience & to save space in your car! .
Lower Floor:
You will find a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, breakfast bar with two stools, large back deck & 1/2 bathroom.
- Kitchen: Fully stocked with refrigerator with ice maker, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishes, pots & pans. Kitchen also has a phone.
- Dining room: Seating for 4 with an additional 2 stools at the breakfast bar and a patio table with umbrella on the back porch if you want to enjoy a sunset while you have dinner!
- Living room: Sleer Sofa, love seat, coffee table for playing games, cable TV, VCR, DVD, movies for all ages, puzzles & several games
- Large Back Deck: Includes gas grill, patio table & chairs.
Covered parking: Under the unit you will find covered parking for 2 cars. There is also a shower and hose for washing those sandy paws and toes!
Little extras for the beach: For your convenience we have provided some extras that we hope clears some space in your car!!

We just returned from enjoying a little piece of heaven. It as a true Cape Escape. We arrived on June 9 and the week just flew by. We were able to take both of our kids, our grandson &, last but not least, our little French Bulldog. It was a truly family fun time. Relaxing on our deck while are grandson played in a little pool (yes, a little glass of wine and a good book too), relaxing by the pool (yes, a n ice cold beer and the same good book) and relaxing on the beach (maybe another cold beer, but the same good book). Sun was hot, water was clear and beer was ice cold!!
No set schedules, no to do lists, no anxiety about leaving the dog at the kennel... I just can't wait to go back. You alwasy wonder about dealing with someone long distance, but Wendy made me feel that we wer eold friends just handling some business.
Everyon had a BLAST! Just plain old family fun....bonding and catching up with everyones life...and OMG the sunsets! It is like God just kissed the sky and it exploded!!

We did have a wonderful trip! The beach is so beautiful! The weather was perfect! The condo was awesome! I DID NOT want to come home. Our 2 Labs loved the beach. We didn't know if they would behave or not, but much to our amazement, they were very well disciplined and they minded us. I had several people on the beach tell me they couldn't believe how well behaved the dogs were. We met some nice people and dogs. We difinitely want to go back. We are actually talking about going back in September.

We certainly enjoyed our Cape Escape. The condo was very comfortable and the kitchen was as well stocked as all the comments said! The beach was gorgeous; we just wish it wasn't so far away (from W. Virginia).....it was very nice to feel that our dogs were really welcome (not just tolerated); in fact there were at least 2 people we saw with more dogs that we had! Our 11 year old Lhasa mix (who tends to be a bit of a diva) barks at anything that moves---that includes waves! After 2 days of barking at them with no evvedt, she then splashed happlily thorugh them as we walked. Our stoic senior border collie deciced she was too much of a lady to get her feet web but enjoyed her walks. Our "youngster" all American mix was somewhere in between in her reaction.

We had a great time! Rain and clouds came in Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, but regardless, it was very relaxing. LOVED the smooth white sand, the ability to take long walks without running into rocks & the uncrowded beach! Even saw dolphins! Kids loved the boogie boards and sand toys. Linda and I loved the beach chairs
Everyone in Barrier Dunes was very friendly. Ice cream scoops at Coneheads were HUGE! Kids enjoyed the smaller pool since it was heated. Played tennis too.
We were surprised by the number of homes for sale, but in this economy, it is understandable. The Cape is beautiful and we'll look to come back and definitely recommend to our friends!

We had a GREAT time on our little mini-vacation at the beach! Everything was so nice, all that was missing in the rental was food! It was clean as a pin and provided everything! I loved that you even had cooking spices, laundry detergent, garbage bags and anything you could think of...even a high chair and baby gates for the pups and kids. Pure heaven! Talk about a nice set up...we will do this again!
First day there, fishing from the beach, then a low country boil and oyster roast that evening, followed by a bonfire on the beach and a full moon too! Second day, fishing on our boat in the St. Joe Bay. We caught speckled trout, flounder, shark, bluefish and a lady fish. We caught enough fish for our dinner and released all the rest! Another fantastic dinner, then wonderful bonfire as the waves rolled in and surf lapping on the waters edge...what a great evening!
We're back and eagerly waiting for our next "Cape Escape"!!

We had a great time at Casa Del Sol! I really think that Sophie (our lab) had the best time of all. She loved going swimming in the Gulf waters and rolling in the sand -- she just couldn't get enough of rolling in the sand! She also took on a role I have never seen her do -- she acted as a rescue dog when she felt people were swimming out too far. She barked and barked at them until they came back in closer. She would even go so far as to swim out to them and bring them back in.
The condo was beautiful and we all had a great visit. Would love to come back when we have more time to stay -- 3 days is not long enough. We also enjoyed the town of Apalachicola. Really nice area.

We had a great time at Cape San Blas! It was awesome and the condo couldn't have been nicer. We were surprised at how many "extras" were provided. It was very helpful. We had 1 storm Thursday a.m. and it was gone by 9 or so, all the other days were sunny, unbelievable in July!
We went horseback riding, ate lots of seafood and, of course, spent many hours on the beach. The dogs were in heaven! I have never seen them so tired. It is such a beautiful place. We will definitely be back!!

We just got back from the Cape yesterday and we had a great time! Casa Del Sol was just as you described it on the web site! Very clean and more spacious than we expected. Having all the extras, from Laundry Detergent to pet towels to the spice rack, was great. The dogs, Bear (Corgi mix) and Laila (Boxer) love the beach. It was wonderful to be able to take them with us on vacation and not have to worry about boarding them or finding a pet sitter.
We ate at some great restaurants (Owl Cafe, Dockside Cafe, Peppers), went horseback riding (with Two-Bit Stables), let to the lighthouse, swam, read walked on the beach a lot and just enjoyed getting away from our normal routines.
We couldn't believe how peaceful it is on the Cape. One morning we went out to the beach at 8:30 and I counted 5 other people as far as I could see in either directions! That was a welcome departure from other overcrowded, over-developed beaches.
We have already recommended your site to several friends and are talking about coming back again next year! Thanks for all of your help!

The vacation went great, 13 1/2 hours drive didn't seem so bad really...found the condo to be very nice and comfortable. Glad to be on the beach without all the commotion that you find along the gulf. Rocky had fun playing in the surf and going on many walks to find shells that were everywhere. Wen shelling for a few days, then decided we had enough to take home.
We ate at Loggerhead Grill, Indian Pass Raw Bar (that's a funny little place), Apalachicola Seafood Grill (largest fish sandwich in the world could feed 3 people, good gumbo), shopped a litte in Apalachicola, Sunset Coastal Grill and Peppers for Mexican, and Coneheads...all were good.
Chris and Dom went fishing with a charter and caught sea trout and a shark...at the beach Dom caught a tarpon...caught crabs one night and cooked them up, though it was a lot of work for a little meat. Dom and Chris both caught fishing in the lakes, some bluegill and small bass (1-2 lbs.) We played tennis, though not well, and every night went to watch the sunset on the beach. We all really enjoyed the Cape and hopefully can plan another trip in a year or 2....thanks for making it so easy!

The Cape was everything you said it would be and more. The house was very nice and comfortable. The beach was amazing and being able to vacation with our dog just added to the fun that we had. Thank you so much for the wonderful vacation! The condo was beautiful as was the beach. Raleigh immediately became a beach baby and he is very sad to be back in St. Louis. I can't tell you how much this trip meant to us. My daughter was diagnosed with MS a couple of months ago and she is trying to cope with this and she really needed to get away. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time. The condo was perfect and we are already making plans to return next year for a longer vacation. Our dog Tish is still tring to recuperate from her beach runs! We loved Barrier Dunes 27 and look forward to coming back. Everything was exactly like you said on your website. I would recommend it highly.
Your amazing customer service and attention to details, including your instructions, really made the vacation wonderful.
On the 2nd day we tried walking to the lighthouse along the beach but never made it...enjoyed every step though. We were gone about 5 hours round trip...never did figure out how far away we were from the lighthouse when we turned back.

Thank you for the nice note. We had a wonderful time at Casa Del Sol. I know of no better way Joyce and I could have spent our 40th anniversary. The weather was perfect and the unit was clean and well equipped. We went in to Applicachicola and had lunch at the Owl Cafe. The crab dip was out of site. The beaches and water were clean. The wind shifted a little bit on Sunday and a few flies came in, but not too bad. The Cape is the place to go to get away from the stress and have peace and relaxation. We will definitely be contacting you again for another "Cape Escape".

We had a very good time at Casa Del Sol, it was a very quiet and relaxing time. Just what we needed as my husband is experience some ill health at this time. It was a few days shwere we could forget about doctors and hospitals.
The dogs had a great time the first full day at the beach, but were less impressed the next day. We got some great pictures of the Roswie (girl dog) sun bathing on the beach wearing my hat to chade her eyes from the sun. We had a great time and really enjoyed our vacation. All of us went on a charter through Seahorse Water Safaris and went snorkeling for scallops and crabs. We caught some and did eat them for dinner, but the fun was going and seeing my granddaughters faces. We found a place by the Raw Bar where the crabbing was the best and I caught 3 large crabs and no one else did...but of course I shared! We all got a lot of sun on the beach and at the pools at Barrier Dunes. My daughter and I went into the State Park and tried our luck there for scalloping, but caught nothing but sore feet. Our granddaughters made friend with our neighbors and everyone was very friendly.
We heard some stories about some poor conditions in some other condos which were rented from other rental agencies or owners, but we were very happy with our condo-- it was clean, kitchen was ell equipped and felt like home. Our dogs had a great time on the beach. Thank you for the wine (note: she had a big "0" birthday!) --that was a very nice thought. I do want to say that it was a delight dealing with you, it was very easy to contact you when we had a questions, you replied right away--it couldn't have been better.
We will definitely consider coming back on our next vacation!

We had a wonderful week on the Cape. This is our second year and we are definitely planning to go back next year! We love it there and so do our boxers, Louie and Abby. Casa Del Sol was great and had everything we needed. The day before coming to the Cape we had bought a new house and moved, so we were definitely in need of some rest and relaxation! We did not want to come home. Thank you again for providing a place where the entire family can come to enjoy vacation together!

The place was wonderful and we all enjoyed it so much. There was not a thing we could wish for in the condo. We have plans of going back next year as our visiting friends enjoyed it so much. Our dogs had so much fin and lots of walks around the condos, but they didn't care for the beach. Too old I guess. They loved the condo too and I took their big dog pillow along. I thought the doggie bags (provided in Barrier Dunes) were a great idea--I had forgotten to bring bags so it was just another great touch!
Needless to say we all had a fabulous time. It was very uncommercialized and everything was there one could wish for, just bring clothing and food!

We had a wonderful time. We played a lot of games and had a lot of fun as a family. By Wednesday the weather got nice and Thursday and Friday were just beautiful. The girls got a tan and my dad became a sun god. My six year old made friends with a little girl from North Carolina and they have promised to be pen pals. We promised her that we would be back next year (her grandmother owns a condo there on the beach). Thanks so much for such a nice place and beautiful beach. Sunday morning, Katherine (my 3 year old) awoke and said, "I want to go to the beach."
The girls haven't stopped talking about Happy Ours and Dan, the man who helped us with the canoe in the bay. It was just a wonderful time. As soon as I know about spring break dates next year I will contact you. My husband said that he will email some of the pictures he took. Thanks again.

We had a wonderful time. The house was very well stocked and kept up! We enjoyed walking on the beach and cooking up some fresh gulf shrimp as well as tasting some local cuisine! We took a tone f great pictures (and if I can get the pictures uploaded on my computer, I'll send you some!)
Overall, we had a wonderful time and definately got to unwind. All the check-in and check-out procedures were quick and easy. The house was great and we would definitely go back! Enjoy a great beach bonfire! Dig a hole, use a starter log and find some driftwood or pick some bundles up at Scallop Cove and you're set! Don't forget to put water on it and rebury it when you're done to keep the Cape San Blas beaches pristine and beautiful!
